Maldives Visa Process

A Maldives visa may be issued and is valid for up to 18 months. However, immigration authorities will choose the length of your visa. You will be informed of this when your visa application is granted.

If you want to stay in the Maldives Republic longer than the immigration office permits, you must apply for a resident permit.

This is also true if you apply for multiple visas on behalf of a family or group of friends.

One of your visa applications may be severely delayed if there are more applications, as there will be more paperwork for officials to handle. Unfortunately, the process cannot be sped up past the 15-day processing period for Maldives visas.

However, you can avoid delays by ensuring your visa application is concise, clear, and accompanied by all necessary paperwork. It will be feasible to avoid unnecessary delays by doing this.

The documents you need to provide include the following:

  • A completed and signed visa application, two recent passport photos,
  • An itinerary contains information about your trips, such as the dates, airline names, hotel reservations, or any other proof of lodging, and a passport with more than three months left on its expiration date. Older passports with previous visas, if you have them.
  • You must also show proof that you have paid the $80 visa application fee and have travel and health insurance coverage for up to $30,000 in medical costs.
