Iran Visa Process

Iranians must obtain a visa to enter the United States. The Iranian Embassy in Washington, D.C., is the only authorized Iranian consulate for issuing visas to U.S. nationals. U.S. citizens can apply for an Iran visa through the Iranian Embassy's website or at one of its consulates in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Applicants must provide their full name, date of birth, passport number, and the page where their passport photo should be inserted. They also must upload a scanned copy of their passport photo and complete a visa application form with information such as their intended destination and purpose of travel. There is no charge for applying for an Iran visa through the embassy's website or at a consulate; however, applicants may be required to pay a processing fee when they receive their visa notification letter from the embassy. Iranians who require a visa to visit Iran can apply online through the embassy's website or at one of its consulates outside of the United States.
