To obtain a visa for Iraq, one must first obtain a valid passport from the government of Iraq. After obtaining the passport, one must complete an application form and bring it with photocopies of all supporting documents to the nearest Iraqi embassy or consulate. All applicants aged 16 or over must also have a photo taken at the embassy or consulate. The waiting time for processing a visa may vary depending on the embassy or consulate but is generally less than two weeks. Upon approval of your visa application, you will receive a written notification confirming your appointment for an interview at either the embassy or consulate where you applied for your visa. If you travel to Iraq via air, you will also receive information about required documentation and travel advisories from your airline carrier.
