Any traveller contemplating a trip to Palestine from outside the country will have a choice between several different visa options, each with its requirements and limits.

Tourists Visa for Palestine: The Palestinian Authority is issuing tourist visas for those who want to visit the country. The Visa costs $50 and can be obtained at any embassy or consulate. Those who hold a passport from a European Union country or North America are not required to have a visa but must still abide by local laws. Tourists should arrive in Palestine no more than three days before their departure date and must leave within 48 hours of their arrival. Those who stay longer than three days may be subject to immigration checks and fines.

Business Visa: To qualify for a Palestinian Business Visa, you must have a valid company or organization in Palestine and be able to provide evidence of financial stability. Additionally, you must have an invitation from a local business person or organization and prove that your visit will not cause significant economic harm to Palestine. Finally, you must have appropriate travel documents, including a passport and visa application form.

There are some exceptions to the Palestinian Business Visa rule: tourists can visit without a visa if their trip is less than 90 days long and they spend no more than 24 hours per day outside Jerusalem or the Gaza Strip.

Long Stay Visa: The long stay visa program was first launched in 2004 by the PA. At that time, only 50 visas were available per year. Since then, the number of visas has increased to 2,000 per year.

However, there are still many restrictions on long-stay visa eligibility. For example, applicants must have a valid passport from their home country or be refugees permanently resettled in another country.

Work Visa: While work visas for Palestine are technically available to all foreigners, they are often difficult to obtain and can be subject to arbitrary interpretation by the host country's authorities. As a result, many humanitarian organizations operate with a small pool of highly skilled international workers with the required visa status and permissions.

Work visas for Palestinians are available through bilateral agreements between Israel and various countries in the Arab world.

Student Visa: Nowadays, only a few countries are willing to issue student visas to Palestinian students. These countries include Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Italy, and Belgium. To be eligible for a student visa from one of these countries, applicants must have a valid passport and proof of enrollment at an accredited school in Palestine or elsewhere.

The United Kingdom has recently announced that it will no longer be issuing student visas to Palestinians due to concerns about the safety of students and staff. This decision is a major disappointment for Palestinian students hoping to continue their education abroad.

Family Visa: The family visa for Palestine is a popular tourist visa that allows visitors to visit their relatives in Palestine. The Visa is available to citizens of most countries and can be obtained through the Palestinian Embassy or Consulate. The visa application process is simple, and applicants only need proof of a relationship with a Palestinian resident. The Visa can be valid for up to six months, and visitors must report to the embassy or consulate every 90 days.
