Thailand Student Visa

A non-immigrant Thai visa is the student visa for Thailand. Non-immigrant visas, which are classed according to the purpose of travel, are given to foreigners visiting Thailand for purposes other than tourism. The category "ED" non- immigrant visa for Thailand is for students.

Documents required before you apply for Student Visa Thailand are listed below

Several supporting documents are required when applying for a Thai student visa. the following are needed for a student visa for Thailand

  • You must be able to see your entire face.
  • Only for religious reasons, and even then, only if it doesn't cover the face, is headgear permitted.
  • Only glasses without hefty frames or that do not hide your eyes are permitted.
  • evidence that you have enough money to last the duration of your vacation. If you're travelling alone, you'll need 20,000 Thai Baht, while a family of four will need 40,000 Thai Baht.
  • a police clearance certificate provided by the local authorities demonstrating your lack of criminal history. Only if you plan to enrol in a course lasting at least a year is this necessary.

Note: The list of prerequisites for Thai student visas is not all-inclusive. The Thai diplomatic mission office where you will submit your application may require any additional documentation they deem necessary. Before a Thai Embassy can use some of the documents you submit, they may need to be legalised. If they are not already in Thai or English (as the Embassy or Consulate advises you), you must have a certified translator translate them before submitting them.

Process Thailand Student Visa

Note You can request to modify your visa category at the Office of the Thai Immigration Bureau in Bangkok if you entered Thailand on a different type of visa (such as a Thai tourist visa). Before your existing visa expires, you must apply. You are unable to change the type of your visa if you entered Thailand with a Visa On Arrival. To apply from a Thai Embassy or Consulate overseas, you must depart Thailand. If you entered Thailand without a visa, you must depart the country and submit an application at a Thai Embassy or Consulate overseas.
