Short Term (C type) visa for ukraine

When a foreigner or stateless person plans to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days in every 180 days, a C type visa will be given. Depending on the accompanying documentation, C type visas may be awarded as single, double, or multiple entry visas with a validity of six months or longer, although they cannot be granted for longer than five years.

Documents Required for the C type visa of Ukraine:

  • You have to keep a passport with yourself which should be valid for at least 3 months after you have arrived in Ukraine. It should have at least 2 blank pages which should not be marked with any visa stamps or marks and it should not be issued before 10 years.
  • printed and signed visa application form (please see MFA advice on visa application registration above);
  • 1 applicants photo (35x45 mm);
  • proof that the applicant is a holder of (or is entitled to benefit from) a valid medical/travel insurance policy to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide a minimum of 30 000 or equivalent coverage). Holders of diplomatic/service passports are exempt from this requirement;
  • A bank statement for the past two months, cash in Ukrainian hryvnia or other convertible currency, bank cards with statements of the balances of current and savings accounts, provided the cards can be used to make purchases in Ukraine, a hotel or other accommodation booking, a letter from the applicants employer or sponsoring organisation attesting to the applicants coverage of expenses in Ukraine, a return or transit ticket, etc., are all acceptable forms of proof of having enough money to cover the costs of stay. Passport holders with diplomatic or service status are immune from this demand. Please refer to the Procedure for Providing Sufficient Funds by Foreigners and Stateless Persons Entering, Staying in, Transiting Through, or Leaving Ukraine, which was approved by Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No.884 of the Fourth of December 2013, for more information on this requirement (in Ukrainian).
  • paid visa fee receipt (unless stipulated otherwise by Ukraines legislation or Ukraines international treaty).

Please note that in cases where applicants reside in a country that is different from the country of their nationality/citizenship Ukraines Embassies/Consulates abroad may only be able to accept visa applications from applicants holding valid temporary/permanent residence documents (long-term visas/residence permits or their equivalents etc.)

Additional documents are also required to apply for C type visa along with the above mentioned documents:

for short-term (C type) visas one of the following:

  • Invitation letter from an organisation/entity/group registered in Ukraine, presented on official letterhead, with indication of the organisation/entity/number groups according to Ukraines Unified State Registry of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Citizens Associations, registration number, date, and signature, as well as the invited persons full name, information about his or her nationality, passport details, place of residence, and purpose
  • original of the notarized invitation letter from a Ukrainian native or a foreigner/stateless person with a valid residence permit (permanent or temporary) in Ukraine. The invitation should include the invitees full name, surname, and name(s), address, full name, nationality, passport information, place of residence, intended purpose of visit, intended duration of visit, intended number of entries, and intended place of stay in Ukraine. It should also include the invitees obligations to pay for the visit, as well as the inviting persons full name and surname.
  • invitation letter issued by Ukraines ministries / other central executive authorities, state entities and organisations;
  • passenger / cargo carriers contract as well as the relevant international passenger / cargo carriers licence;
  • certificate of a Ukrainian ancestor provided by the National Committee on Ukrainian Ancestry of Ukraine. If the applicants family also files for this form of visa, they need also give documentation verifying their status and lineage to the applicant;
  • evidence showing the applicants primary reason for travelling to Ukraine is for tourism (hotel or accommodation reservations, a stay schedule, details about the tour(s) and their schedules, information about the travel agency, transfer information, and sightseeing information, etc.);
  • invitation letter issued by Ukraines hospital/medical treatment institution;
  • document issued by the relevant regional/city state administration/bank confirming that the applicant has made an investment to Ukraines economy;
  • document(s) confirming that the applicant owns property in Ukraine;
  • a letter from Ukraines Ministry of Culture or the Department on Religious Matters of the appropriate regional or city state administration, whichever organisations registration is with that body, accompanied by an invitation letter from a religious organisation for the short-term performance of missionary activities;
  • a letter from the international mass media asking for the Ukrainian government to grant the foreign journalist or staff member a visa so they can visit there for work;
  • letter of invitation from an international organisation or an official of a foreign state;
  • a directive from Ukraines Central Election Commission on the registration of official observers from other countries and international organisations for the presidential, parliamentary, local, and referendum elections;
  • Document(s) confirming that the applicant is a spouse, a parent or a child of a citizen of Ukraine.

Eligibility- C type Visa-ukraine

Customers must be in possession of a current passport, bank statements from the previous six months, and at least two blank pages in order to be eligible for a Ukraine visa. The visa business needs to scan each of these documents.

If someone else is travelling with you, you should have a return ticket for yourself. If either person returns after your visa expires, you are not eligible. Both parties should have a return ticket in accordance with their visa expiration dates. Depending on the country you live in and the type of visa you have, you must pay additional fees for visa updates.
